Cleanup:
- (fix comment in IMP, version string in MIMP),
- remove unnecessary prefs in kronolith
- make sure guests can't create/manage calendars in any way.

Start converting some redirects to just require statements where we
can. This saves some loading of libraries and variable setup, and
saves an HTTP redirect as well.

Comments on this? I'm thinking of trying to do it in more places, to
streamline our app flow a bit.

The "not configured" page no longer depends on Horde.

Hardcoded a skeleton CSS entry in there so that the page still
looks nice.

Update IMP over to the new MIME_Viewer framework

Many, many changes.  Some regression bugs in MIME viewing may have been
reintroduced, so please test.  This passed most (all?) of Chuck's
MIME torture test mailbox.

config/mime.php is no longer used , config/mime_drivers.php is now the
config file of choice

- new excel driver
- change MIME_Viewer::render() API to accept optional parameters
- many tweaks to old default mime_drivers file
- support for 'no_download', 'no_view', 'inline' options in mime_drivers

A lot of the old IMP drivers are now part of Horde, so you have to configure
up Horde for word/excel documents.  Once configured though, this will
also work with Chora and other apps as they use the API

More cleanup to come, and there are still some rough edges, but its
8/9 way there

Merge doctype.inc into common-header.inc.

Added a HORDE_BASE define in the non-configured clause of index.php.
It still guesses the location of Horde, but it doesn't cause a fatal
error.

add and use HORDE_BASE.

You must track the changes to conf.php.dist.

The configuration array is now simply $conf. Any settings that must be
accessible unchanged (not overridden) should be put into $conf['horde'].
Everything else is fair game for applications to override.

minor fixes/wording

- fix a problem with the forms in mailbox.php that I introduced last night
- always redirect the user either to the mailbox (if they have a valid
  session) or the login page (if they don't).
- handle incorrect requests for message.php (for instance with no
  parameters) or requests that fail (if the mailbox changed, for instance)
  by redirecting back to the mailbox and displaying an error message.

Add a notconfigured template for Gollem, and fix up a bunch of other index/configuration
nits for various apps while I'm at it.

Define an IMP_BASE constant used wherever including files to make sure that
files are included relative to where IMP is in the filesystem. This allows
IMP scripts to be included from other scripts in completely different
hierarchies and still work.

Using this, and tweaking my conf files a bit, I got IMP running through a
single file in the web tree (plus the graphics). Pretty nifty.

Vastly improved action=compose behavior when the user isn't yet logged in.

Add a set of invoke() methods to the Registry:: class for directly invoking
services (ie, actually popping up a window) instead of printing links to
invoke them.

Then, use that functionality in IMP to directly invoke the compose window if
remote_login.php is called and is passed the parameter "action=compose"

use the horde session name from the start, so we don't get "?PHPSESSID="
appended to the login.php url.

add lib/base.php to take care of setting up things that every IMP script (or
practically every IMP script) needs.

Fix copyright messages.

Replace buildURL() with Horde::url().

Rewrote the Session class for instantiation with hooks for
user-defined session handlers.

Updated IMP to use the new interface.  The others modules still need
to be updated.

Note the additional $horde['session_handler'] variable, too.

Promoted the WebClient class from lib/Horde.php to its own component
named Browser.php.

move to new main package names - Horde.php and IMP.php

some checks, fix typos (in headers - probably in most files), and remove
some $doc stuff.

Updated the copyright information in the header comments.

I really had no chance of separating this out into separate commits
once I got started, so here's what's new:

IMP has been converted to a frameless layout.  This is _not_ as clean
as it could be right now, but it actually came out pretty nicely.
There's still a lot of work to be done, but everything should be
completely usable right now.

I completed the rest of the gettext converions.  IMP now uses gettext
exclusively, so I nuked most of the locale/ hierarchy.  The only
holdouts are the *passwd changing files, but I'll leave those for
someone else to update.

$lang is pretty much gone for good, so I made the appropriate changes
to prefs.php and compose.php for language listing, too.

get rid of underlining in the mailbox view, and move imp.css into the main
directory to make sure templates/ can be restricted.

Cleaning up the HTML output for XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

Removing the "unknown browser" case.  This creates a bit of
confusion when IMP is deployed at large private sites (eg. campus).
If users see the "unknown browser, report to dev@horde.org"
messages, they have no idea what's going on and who they should be
asking for help.  It's easier overall if they just contact the
local support team who can in turn forward problems to us.

only thing left is to fix things like the sql preferences, since they'll be
broken for now.

Oops - I apparently missed the fact that this didn't commit earlier.

A couple of tweaks to various things that seems to make remote login work
better.

nuking a bunch of phplib references. things like babel may be in limbo for a
bit, but that's okay.

Fixing some style issues, replacing explicit './template/' paths with the
value from $conf['paths']['templates'], and removing the initial '/' from
calls to buildURL().

forgot a $ in index.php.

[IEM] nuking out .php files

Ok, here's the big mother of all IMP commits. I _think_ I got everything. Do
please test.

Making all Location: headers generate fully-qualified url's.

- Some more MIME cleaup and a few fixes
- updated all of the (easy to find, at least) copyright statements to 2000
- slight tweak to login.php3 that might improve phplib auth behavior
- replaced a bunch of calls to imap_msgno with the FT_UID flag to avoid a
  trip to the imap server

Finally got around to putting in some patches from Michael Smith
<michael@csuite.ns.ca> that save information on bad logins (username,
server, etc) and also pass the query string that index.php3 gets along to
login.php3, to allow urls like
http://webmail.foo.com/imp/?IMAPServer=server1, etc.

Axing a lot of the setup.php3 stuff that's still around.  I have some ideas
on how to replace this, but there's no rush for the development branch, so
we should be fine without all of these checks for now.

Lots of good stuff here:

1)  I cleaned up the buildURL() function a bit.  It's now a lot more
    flexible with regards to SSL.  $conf['use_ssl'] can have one of three
    settings: 0 (no SSL), 1 (always SSL), or 2 (use SSL if available).

2)  The buildURL() now wraps the generated URL in $sess->url() so that
    session ID's can be maintained via the GET method on browsers that
    don't make cookies available (by the user's choice or otherwise).

    IMP now runs fine (I tested this pretty thoroughly) with cookies
    disabled!

use HordeDefaultAuth for imp, not HordeAuth. This should fix the
always-getting-the-horde-login problem.

cjh: a couple of updates-
1. canceling a message now prompts you "do you really want to do this?" (new
   string to be added to all the languages here)
2. 8bit headers should be correctly encoded now - even long ones are
   correctly broken up into atoms smaller than 76 chars. PLEASE TEST THIS!!!
3. the rest of the server_list_hidden option.

[IEM] lynx support fix

[IEM] fixing lynx issue where it would load up horde.lib twice, once
in index.php3 and once in login.php3.  Basically now I'm having it do
this if it's lynx:

  header("Location: login.php3");
  exit;

and it works. :)

cjh: - making tables width=100% wherever they're not
     - the imp menu can now be top, bottom, left, right - $default->menu
     - images on the menu are toggled by $default->menu_images
     - started cleaning up the contacts window stuff - just check all those variables once and custom output the javascript function to do what we want, instead of having 3 javascript functions and checking which one to put in the output

cjh: cleanup. fixed some require/include mixups (whoever put in the language
fallback stuff seemed to forget that require shouldn't be used in
conditionals).
     don't instantiate HordeDefaultAuth where it's not needed
     added page_close() in all the files it wasn't in already.

cjh: Beginning work on the frames stuff for the tip branch. We've now got a
horde-specific (and fairly attractive, if I say so myself) login form. I've
replaced modules.php3 with horde.php3, since it's intended to be a general
horde functions bar - modules, login, logout, etc. I added a small little
horde logo for use in things like the login form. And I got rid of some
unused stuff.

There'll probably be more along these lines later today. Just a heads up:
ImpSession and ImpPrefs are going away, to be replaced with a set of
functions and an array. Bottom line: DON'T make objects persistant (user or
session). Why? We want people to be able to switch seemlessly between apps.
If an app makes an object persistant, *all* other apps have to have that
object defined so that the session doesn't die. It'd be possible to have a
generic object with no attributes or functions for every object we wanted to
make persistant, and put that in Horde, but this puts a damper on "third
party" stuff. So, let's go with arrays instead.
